Teacher Interview
i interviewed a teacher by the name of Mrs.Whatts. She is a family friend that I have known since i was little. She thinks that public school kids are the kids who need the better teachers, because the kids benefit more. Lots of the kids that attend public schools come from families that don't have a lot of money. She thinks that they are the kids who appreciate the experience more. She also believes in a strict class room environment. She thinks to get respect you have to be strict with your students. She doesn't give much homework, she thinks kids learn the most while they're at school. She also believes that kids parents have a large influence on if the student is motivated to learn or not. She believes the learning comes from if the student's parents motivate them to do well. A classroom that makes learning fun is always more beneficial to the student's learning. She thinks they learn the best doing activities. She teaches 5th grade, so she deals with younger students.

After the class discussion on SB 1070, i realized how much it's effecting people. In class people were telling countless stories about people they know who the bill would be effecting. I think they need to work on the legalization process, so that it doesn't take massive amounts of time and make it more consistent so that there is a set amount of time. I thought the discussion went really well and everyone had good arguments. I think that many people are still undecided on the bill. I know i am among those people. I thought the discussion was a success and i learned a lot about the bill and the arguments both sides have on it.

"The planes were hijacked, the buildings fell, and thousands of lives were lost nearly a thousand miles from here. But the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were an attack on the heart of America.
And standing here in the heartland of America, we say in one voice
We will not give in to terrorists;
We will not rest until they are found and defeated;
We will win this struggle not for glory, nor wealth, nor power, but for justice, for freedom, and for peace"
We will not give in to terrorists;
We will not rest until they are found and defeated;
We will win this struggle not for glory, nor wealth, nor power, but for justice, for freedom, and for peace"

government debate reaction
When we first started talking about the issue of building the mosque two blocks from ground zero, Iwas against it. After listening to all the arguments I don't see why they shouldn't be able to build it. They have the right to by the freedom of religion. If we're fighting a war that's supposed to give Muslims freedom like we have, then what's the point if we can't even give them freedom in America. If we don't set an example then who will? The debate was interesting and i thought it went well. There were good arguments from both sides. In my opinion, they should be able to build the mosque, it shouldn't matter where they want to build it.
